Resource Description:
Music Appreciation: Thematic Pillars is an introductory course that explores music through five central themes—Sacred Spaces, Stage and Screen, Music Among Friends, Music in Public Spaces, and Music for Social Change—rather than a traditional chronological timeline. Students will develop listening skills, learn key musical concepts, and engage with a wide range of styles and genres. Through curated listening examples, reflective journals, and interactive assessments, this course encourages students to think critically about music’s role in society, culture, and personal expression. C-ID: MUS 100.
