This book provides an overview of child abuse and neglect, from both historical and contemporary perspectives. Topics include physical and emotional abuse and neglect, sexual abuse, reporting and investigation, case management and the legal response, treatment for survivors and perpetrators, and prevention of future child abuse and neglect. This textbook is designed for use by adult students, parents, medical professionals, teachers, care providers, case workers and other individuals who work with children.
