Introduction to Spanish 1 is a beginner-level course that develops foundational skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish. Students learn greetings, the alphabet, numbers, dates, family, daily routines, hobbies, food, and other everyday topics while practicing essential grammar concepts such as gender and number agreement, subject pronouns, regular and irregular verbs, ser vs. estar, the present progressive, and the preterite. Through interactive assignments, conversations with peers, cultural explorations, and listening activities, students build confidence in using Spanish to communicate in practical situations and gain an appreciation for the diverse cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.
