Course: SPAN 2 - Elementary Spanish
This course builds proficiency in Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and cultural understanding through a thematic, module-based approach. Students will develop skills in narrating the past with the pretérito, imperfecto, and pasado progresivo; explore the presente perfecto and pasado perfecto; and practice expressing future and conditional ideas. Additional units cover pronouns, reflexive and reciprocal verbs, uses of se, commands, and the subjuntivo. Alongside grammar, students expand vocabulary related to daily life, celebrations, politics, family, and culture, while engaging with authentic readings, writing assignments, discussions, and cultural explorations of the Spanish-speaking world. By the end of the course, students will have strengthened their ability to communicate with accuracy and confidence in a variety of real-world contexts.
